Tuesday, December 15, 2009 Bill of Rights Day
To commemorate the 218th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights, the JAL held a "Bill of Rights Acclamation" on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, 4:00–5:00 p.m. at the First Amendment Monument, Downtown Mall, Charlottesville (Far East End, Next to Pavilion). The Bill of Rights was read aloud by all attendees. Speakers (including Rob Schilling, James Lark, and Chris Horner) addressed its profound impact on freedom, and of events injurious to its purpose. Thursday, November 12, 2009 “Global Warming: The What and Why of Kyoto and ‘Cap-and-Trade’ Policies" Students for Individual Liberty sponsored an address by Chris Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute (www.cei.org) at the University of Virginia.
